| You might try forsythia or lilac, both of which are considered tolerant of the juglone from black walnuts. In my experience, deer do not eat these shrubs. However, deer have literally learned to eat different plants in different areas because of population pressure, so you might want to check locally to see if yours have learned to eat these yet, or not. |
