I would like to know if I can grow peonies in my area. I think that they are lovely plants but know nothing about growing or caring for them.

Anita,

Peonies struggle in the combined heat and humidity of our long southern summers. Many gardeners in the coastal south have tried to grow peonies to no avail. I'd suggest you spend your time and money on the many other beautiful plants that do well in the south.
