| While it is theoretically possible to do what you have described, in practical terms it is a bit difficult. You can certainly start with morning glories, four o'clocks and moonflowers (which open in late afternoon for the night). The Victorians tried to create these and I believe the inspiration came from work done by early botanists including Linneaus in Sweden. Sharon Lovejoy's book "Sunflower Houses: Garden Discoveries for Children of All Ages" (ISBN 0-934026-70-X) includes detailed instructions on creating a floral clock beginning on page 32.
