I live in central Nebraska and we are planning to relocate our garden this spring. I need to know when is the best time to move my asparagus, strawberries, raspberries, peonies, poppies, irises, and daylilies. We wanted to move these items this spring.

The best time to transplant most things is as early as possible so the roots can become re-established before the hot summer weather hits. The asparagus may be difficult to dig because the root systems are usually very large. Oriental poppies generally do not transplant well, either, but can be dug and moved by taking root divisions when they are dormant this summer. Good luck with your move.
