What is feeding on our hostas? How do we rid our flower garden of hosta eating pests?

I would say even if you don't see them, slugs are probably eating your hosta leaves. You can place beer traps in your garden, or you could try a barrier-type control--there's a new one called "Slug-Out", which is a powder you sprinkle in a band around the plants you want to protect. It lasts about 3 weeks, and is made from an extract of coconuts and is not toxic to humans or pets. Slug-Out is available from Garden's Alive,ph# 812-537-8650; e-mail: [email protected]
