My son thought my daylilies were weeds and he ran over them with the mower. They were up about 5-6inches tall..... Should I leave them alone? Will they come up this year? Or should I dig them up and replant?

I wouldn't worry. Daylilies are so vigorous I bet they'll come back and in a month you'll never know the difference. Perennial plants often get nipped by late cold spells, and if the existing foliage is damaged, they send up new shoots. It might be a good time, though, to take your son on a tour of your yard, and point out your prized plants.
