What do you use for seed drying packets? Please advise, as I would like to dry my own seeds, and do not know what to use as drying packets. |
Seeds should be allowed to air dry and then placed in sealed containers and stored in a cool, dark location. I collect my seeds in plain white envelopes and just prop them up on the kitchen counter until the seeds are completely dry (usually a week is all it takes in normal household temperatures). Then I seal the envelopes, write the plant name on the front and place the envelopes in an old jar with a screw-top lid. The jar goes into a hall closet where it remains at fairly stable temperatures until planting time the following spring. |
