Would clipping flowers from Ajuga increase growth or spreading? |
Ajuga spreads by above ground runners and by seeds. If you remove the flowering stalks seed production will be stopped which technically should redirect the plant's energy into producing more foliage and runners. I generally run the lawnmower over my Ajuga to remove the spent flower stalks, just to keep the plants looking neat. As long as your Ajuga has adequate moisture and sunlight, it should spread rather rapidly. Hope this answers your question! |
