I purchased my asparagus from you three years ago, early on my asparagus was doing fine. Today I went up to get some and found that some of the shoots were wilted over and had a look of yellow to them and as if they were starting to rot. We have had alot of rain the past two days but the asparagus is on the high ground with good drainage. What am I doing wrong.

Asparagus is occasionally subject to fungal stem, root and/or crown rot which could cause the symptoms you are describing but not usually until later in the season. You might want to take a sample to your county extension (840-7408) for a more specific identification of the problem and suggested controls, if any. In the meantime, these problems can be worsened by overfertilizing, over harvesting, over or under watering, and by a pH that is too low, so you might also check into these as possible contributing factors.
