Wilted Palm Plant - Knowledgebase Question

I think I may have over watered a palm plant that I have in my house. There are mushrooms growing out of the soil. I have removed them, but the plant, which is a large one, is all wilted down. What can I do to help it? I have been letting the soil dry. What else should I do?

If the roots are damaged from too much water, you'll have to wait and see if the plant recovers. Other than allowing the soil to dry out some, there's nothing you can do. (Don't let the soil dry out completely; keep it slightly moist. Too little water is as bad as too much water.) If it's really all droopy and wilted, I'm afraid the root damage may have been extensive. But I'd wait a little while and hope for the best.
