| Osmanthus fragrans is commonly called sweet olive, sweet osmanthus, tea olive, and fragrant olive. It grows to 10' or more at maturity. Tea olive is an evergreen shrub with powerfully fragrant small, white blossoms in spring, and intermittently throughout summer. It's tolerant of heavy clay soils, and tolerates full sun but prefers some afternoon shade. It's often used as a hedge, screen, specimen, windbreak, background, espalier, houseplant or container plant. |
