Can rhubarb grow in NE Georgia, specifically Valentine Rhubarb? My mom purchased hers from you years ago and it is still growing in her garden in SE Michigan. My husband sampled her pie and now wants us to grow it.

Southern gardeners have been generally unsuccessful with rhubarb due to our long, hot, sultry summers. However, some have had good results with planting seeds in late summer and carrying the plants over winter for spring harvest. You might try that approach. If you try to grow it from plants and intend to keep it as a perennial rather than as an annual, select a location with afternoon shade and keep it moist, but not too wet during the summer months.
