I have never trimmed a Rhododendrum, but I have seen some that look as if they were trimmed. Can I trim a Rhododendrum after it has finished blooming, and do I trim and shape it just like an Azelea?

You can trim it right after it blooms, or earlier in the spring although pruning earlier will remove the blooms for the year. The pruning priniciples would be similar to that of an azalea, yes.
