I recently wrote to you and ask a question over 48hours,in concern of my rose bushes I recently moved in my garden,All the floweres & buds Just drooped. How can I save them? Yesterday my mom cut off all the flowers& buds in hopes to survive them. |
Transplanting is a big shock to plants, especially when it is done later in the season. Shrubs that are dug for transplanting are routinely trimmed back to compensate for the loss of roots during the move. You might want to trim them back to about one third of their orginal size to help them become reestablished. If they continue to droop, you might try shading them. Also be careful to keep the soil moist (but not soggy) throughout the season. If you need to move more roses, try to do it in very early spring so they have a chance to reestablish some roots before the hot weather hits. |
