I have heard of a potting soil that is made of
shredded coconuts, called Tropical Gold. IT holds
the moisture so your plants don't get dried out
and you don't have to water them so often.
Where can I buy this product?

This material can be used as a substitute for peat moss in potting mixes and is especially useful for plants that like an aicd soil. A quick search did not bring up a source for the brand you mentioned, however, Farm Wholesale Greenhouse Supply ( http://www.farmwholesale.com/i... ) offers Cocolite bricks of coconut coir pith, which are compressed, for easier shipping. Another brand name is Growcoir It is also frequently available from orchid suppliers so that might provide a local source for you.
