Our perennial garden contains a plant which we are told is a, Spring Lily, it has multiple small bell shaped flowers that reach a hgt of 8- 10inches and leaves similar to a day lily but, much smaller. The problem is they are more prolific than rabbits and if we try to dig them up they seem to increase faster. The plants grow grom small white bulbs which are impossible to eliminate completely from the earth. What can we do to control them?

Apart from digging carefully and screening the soil, you mightprefer to carefully spray or paint the foliage with an herbicide containing glyphosate according to the label instructions. This is a nonselective herbicide, so be careful not to allow it to contact the desirable perennials. It needs to be done while the bulbs are in active growth so that it will be translocated underground where it will kill the bulb.
