These plants tolerate a range of lighting conditions indoors, generally from a bright location with indirect light to a relatively dark position. If you put it outdoors, make sure it is in a shady spot completely out of direct sun. It would probably enjoy the humidity outdoors but make sure temperatures are warm at night -- steadily in the sixties as a minimum.
