Unfortunately, most house plants are not particularly fragrant. However, you can grow herbs such as basil, thyme, lemon verbena, mint and so on on the windowsill and they will release a fragrance when bruised or trimmed. Scented geraniums are another group of fragrant plants, although again it is the leaves that release the odor. These are very easy to grow as houseplants and are so fragrant that their leaves are an old fashioned ingredient in potpourri. You will find them in a wide variety of scents from lemon to rose to apple to nutmeg and so on. You might also enjoy growing jasmine indoors; although it blooms only occasionally it is wonderfully fragrant.
