I just discovered Columbines in Minnesota and want to grow them in California. All I found were seeds in Minnesota. Can I plant the seeds anytime in my frost free location and can I leave them in planters once they are fully grown? Do you have a source where I can buy columbine plants?

Columbine are perennial plants and should come back year after year. Seeds for 'Songbird Hybrid Mix' and plants, too, are available from the Burpee Catalog. (Item # B-48744 seeds, Item # B-19562 plants) Order online at http://www.burpee.com or phone (800) 888-1447 to place your order.

Columbines are hardy plants and you can cut back the stems when the blooms are spent for a second flush of blooms later in the season. Enjoy!
