Can you tell me how fast the Bradford pear tree grows a yea? I just planted it last year it is about 3-4 feet tall now. I had ordered it from a catalog and it is growing great now. It started to branch out so I was just wondering how much it will grow a year. The tree gets to 35 feet, I think.

"Bradford" pears tend to grow relatively quickly. According to Michael Dirr's "Manual of Woody Landscape Plants," the trees will grow to between 12 and 15' over an 8 to 10 year period with a 12 year old tree being potentially 24' high, 22' wide and 7" in diameter. The size range for a mature tree is between 30 and 50' tall, with a 20 to 53' spread.
