Saucer magnolia, Magnolia soulangiana, grows at a medium rate of say 10 to 15 feet in a ten year period. This will vary depending on the soil and moisture conditions as well as exposure to sun and wind and so on. It will do best in a moist, deep, rich soil that is somewhat acidic. According to Michael Dirr's "Manual of Woody Landscape Plants" this tree should mature in the 20 to 30 foot range with a width approximately the same as its height.
