| We planted 2 Drake elms this past March (approximately 12 ft tall). The bark on both trees is peeling. Is this normal? |
| Nancy, Yes it is normal. One of the key features of a Drake elm is its beautiful exfoliating bark. As the tree gets older and larger this will create a beautiful rust and grey color pattern on the trunk. Thanks for the question and please let us know if we can be of more assistance! |
