|Pansies usually benefit from regular deadheading, menaing removing the spent flowers as they occur. They should also be fertilized regularly and the soil should be kept evenly moist. When blooming slows and the plants become tall and leggy, they can be cut back and fed and watered and may regrow to bloom again when the weather cools. Pansies do best in cool weather and for this reason are often treated as cool season annuals and discarded when the weather turns warm.
