My bachelor buttons are nearing the end of blooming. Someone told me to cut them back about two thirds and they will grow and bloom again late August. Is this true??

thanks

The centaurea type of perennial batchelor buttons may well rebloom if conditions are favorable. Trim away the bloom stems and apply a bit of compost or complete fertilizer according to the label instructions. Do not remove the bulk of the foliage however.
