|Two part question: (1) would perennial variety of petunia do well in the northeast, and if so; (2) where can I find either the plants or seeds?

|The wild petunia or Ruellia humilis should be hardy in your area but it will bloom beginning only in late summer. It is difficult to find but here is a possible source: Prairie Nursery Inc., Westfield, WI Ph: 800-476-9453 or http://www.prairienursery.com/ In my experience this plant is not comparable in performance to the annual petunias we often grow in that it would not be suitable for the same uses.
