How do i know if a plant can produce seeds or which plant can make another plant by the roots?

In my experience just about all plants can be reproduced by seed, although some are more difficult than others in terms of specific germination requirements. Many plants can also be propagated in more than one way, some by stem cutting, by root cutting, by layering or by division of the roots or crown. The best way to find out is to research the plant.
