Dog Wood Trees - Knowledgebase Question

We have lost a Dog wood tree last two years ago and now are other one is dying. There is like ants on is and it looks like something is eating it. What do we do?

Unfortunately, based on your description it is impossible to make a definite diagnosis of the problem, although the holes could be the result of borer activity or decay associated with bark injury. You might wish to consult with your local UMASS extension or with a professionally trained and certified arborist for a more specific diagnosis and suggested remedies, if any. I'm sorry about your trees.
