My giant sunflowers are being eaten by bugs on the leaves, some have chewed edges others the leaves are eaten from the middle outward. I tried 3 different sprays and I can't seem to find the right solution. Thank you J.M.

You are probably seeing the results of feeding by sunflower beetle larvae that munch away at night. Ladybugs and lacewings are natural predators of these pests and among the mosteffective controls. You might also wish to contact your county extension (727-7850) for a definite identification of the problem and the most appropriate control recommendations.
