I purchased a Pussy Willow tree from you last year and the two storks fell off and now it appears that it is growing as a bush and not a tree. Why and how do I make it a tree. |
Based on your description I am not certain whether you had a grafted plant or simply one trained to a tree form. If you had a grafted tree, then it is possible the graft failed and you are now seeing shoots from the root. In this case, the shoots will not match the original top and you would possibly want to replant another tree. On the other hand, if the plant had simply been trained as a tree form, (pussy willow is naturally sort of a very large bush or small tree) you can do this yourself. Select one or two of the more dominant shoots and remove the rest. Keep doing this every time a new shoot tries to sprout from the base. Eventually the plant will grow in a treelike form without your help. |
