|I planted pumpkin seeds in May in Massachusetts.
Green leaves have grown-3 sets. After 4 days of rain
I noticed beautiful yellow-orangeishe flowers on 2 of
the plants. Are these my pumpkins beginning to grow?
|Pumpkins do bloom! The plant will make both male flowers (a number of these, first) and then female flowers (these have a mini pumpkin sort of bulge at the base) to assure pollination. Once the female flowers are pollinated by insects, you will see pumpkins begin to form. The blossoms will fade and fall off naturally, too.|
