Although skunks tend to eat grubs and cause very little garden damage in and of themselves, in many areas skunks are considered dangerous due to the fact that they may carry rabies. You might want to contact your local animal control authorities about the skunk if you live in town. If you are in a rural area, you might consider having the animal professionally trapped and removed. (It is difficult to relocate a trapped skunk.)
