|I have a steep bank in my yard, too steep to mow. It had crown vetch on it but we didn't like how it looked in the winter. We killed all the crown vetch and we are now looking for a nice, inexpensive ground cover that, preferably, stays under 1 foot. It recieves sun nearly all day and the soil contains fairly many small rocks. Am I asking for too much?
|You could try English ivy (Hedera helix) or creeping phlox (Phlox subulata)or low growing juniper shrubs. The shrubs are individually more expensive but you would need fewer of them and they tend to do well in full sun and well drained soil on a slope.
