What are walking irises and how do I care for them?

Neomarica gracilis is the walking iris. It grows in full sun, in average to rich soil, with regular watering during the growing season. This iris begins blooming in the spring and continues into the summer. Each flower lasts for only one day, but is soon replaced by another flower.
