|I have harvested fruit from the two pinepples I rooted from tops. They were sweet and delicious. Will the plants produce additional pineapples? Is it worth keeping them for potted plants?|
|Potted pineapple plants are quite popular because of their interesting foliage. Given the right conditions, your pineapple plants can produce edible pineapples, generally within 18 months although this can vary significantly due to growing conditions such as temperature, light, fertility, etc.|
A balanced fertilizer such as MiracleGro will keep your pineapple vigorous and healthy. Use the low, constant feed rate. They require a fertilie, well-drained soil, kept slightly moist.
A greenhouse would provide the perfect growing environment, but failing that, provide full sun, very high humidity, and night temperatures that don't dip below 65F, to mimic the conditions of their native habitat.
