I am interested in planting a salad bowl:
lettuce and whatever else can be produced in a single bowl.
What do you suggest and exactly what do I use: soil, seeds, small plants?

Sounds like a fun project! Your variety of salad ingredients will only be limited by the size of the bowl. Find a container with drainage holes in the bottom and fill it 2/3rds full of moistened potting soil. Sow seeds of lettuce, radishes, beets (greens are tasty!), endive, mustard, spinach and arugula. You'll have a great harvest of lovely greens for your salad. Be sure to provide full sunshine and ample water for your bowl of salad plants.
