I am a 4th grade teacher and we just purchased a 4' x 8' Gardenhouse. I was wanting to know what direction would be the best way to face the greenhouse? What types of plants do you suggest we start planting in our greenhouse. We plan to start them in middle September. I really appreciate all your help! This is the second question I have had for you!!!

I would suggest placing the greenhouse so that the broad side faces south, to maximize light exposure. Since many school activities will take place in fall, winter, and spring, the extra light and warmth will help extend the growing season. As far as what to grow, you'll want to consider, for example, what concepts you are trying to show. You might, for example, compare vegetative propagation by rooting cuttings versus seed-propagated plants. I suggest you visit our Kids Gardening web site and scan some of the articles and activities for ideas and information.
