Are you aware of any books regarding how to make your own herbal pills. ie ginko pills might easily be made from a part of a ginko tree we have on our property. Many herbs we have growing here could be stored and used in lieu of buying expensive pills at health food stores.

There are some books that discuss the medicinal qualities of herbs and methods of processing them, especially since herbalism is somewhat of an ancient craft requiring great skill and care. Stephen Foster's books might be a good place to start learning about their special qualities and possible means of handling. I would caution you that the potency of herbs varies depending on the strains you grow and the conditions under which they are grown as well as the time and method of harvest and the handling thereafter. Also note that the level of government regulation of herb quality and labeling is currently under some scrutiny and discussion.
