|My dogwood tree (20yrs old) seems to be dying.
The branches are slowly loosing their leaves,
this has been going on all summer. Is there a way I can save it, the tree is in front of the
nine-light window in our livingroom and adds beauty to our home.
WE use miracle-gro in our vegetable garden.
|There are numerous possible causes for your dogwood to decline, ranging from disease to borer or other insect infestation to long term effects of drought. You might want to consult with your local county extension (350-2540)as to what is happening to your particular tree and what steps you could take to try to keep it going. Unfortunately, these are not usually terribly long lived trees to begin with and the past few dry years have been very hard on the dogwoods, especially if they are otherwise stressed in any way.
