What is the best time of year to plant a Blue Spruce tree in my area?

Needled evergreens are usually best planted in early spring so that their root systems can become well established before winter. Winter is stressful to evergreens because they continue to lose moisture through the foliage and a new plant's stressed root system may not be able to supply enough of it before the ground freezes.
