Should you dig up annual flowers every year. My marigolds have died due to a frost and I think I should dig them up. I live in upstate NY.

Annual flowers such as marigolds live for only one season. During that season they grow, bloom, set seed, and die. Routine garden maintenance would include pulling them up and removing them in the fall after the frost has killed them. They can be added to the compost pile for recycling.
