|I tried yellow tear drop tomatoes -- best flavor in history. What source is there? Will seeds come true ?|
|If your yellow tomatoes were the old-fashioned heirloom type (sometimes called "open-pollinated"), you can save the seeds and expect them to produce plants with similar fruits. The newer hybrids won't always come true, even though tomatoes are self-pollinating. If you avoid hybrid varieties you'll be able to grow the same tomato from seed saved from each plant next year, even if different varieties were grown close together. |
Seeds of yellow pear tomatoes (teardrop shaped) are available from Territorial Seed Company, PO Box 157, Cottage Grove, OR 97424 and from Totally Tomatoes, PO Box 1626, Augusta, GA 30903-1626.
