Just need to know whether pennisetum rubrum is annual or perennial? Ordered it from Burpee this spring, but the Burpee website says it has no information of any kind on it...pretty weird.

Some varieties of Pennisetum are hardy from zones 5 to 9, while others are less hardy. Oriental Fountain Grass (Pennisetum orientale) for instance is hardy only to zone 7. Unfortunately, Pennisetum setaceum such as the variety 'Rubrum' is even less hardy than that -- only to 9A -- so I doubt you will be able to overwinter it outside under any circumstances.
