How do I keep my spider lily over the winter? |
A number of bulbs go by the common name spider lily, but I'm assuming you have a crinum. Stop feeding and reduce watering when leaves begin to yellow in fall. Let foliage die back. Dig and store in packing material (peat moss, wood chips, etc) in a moderately warm place. Plant next spring after frost is over. Some crinum are hardy to minus 20 degrees F., but you probably don't want to take the chance unless you know exactly what you have. Good luck! |
