I learned from experience to be sure to allow the Money Plant to self-seed before picking the seed pods. Would early sowing reward me with more plants? Would it be to my benefit to sow seeds for this plant now, in October? I live in southern Connecticut, Zone 6. |
This plant is a biennial, so it must be sown the year before you expect to harvest the silvery "dollars". In my experience, allowing the plants to self sow each year supplies ample quantities of plants each successive year. In fact, they can become a pest. If you are trying to grow it in quantity, setting out small plants in late spring should yield large plants to bloom well the following year. |
