How does people like dole grow pineapples, i mean they dont cut them stem off the top of mature harvested pineapples and then wait 2 -3 years to get a single pineapple like you would if u did it at home, even with the best temp, light, soil etc how do they do it and how long does it take them to get a pineapple and theres are large unlike the small ones u get when growing your own, if u wanted to grow pineaples, say 30 plants and get full size pineapples in a time frame not 3 years long, as i dont think dole waits that long, where would u begin and where would u get your stock from, i mean so u can grow ones like you get ibn the store, i have been wanting to do this for years and decided if i can find the advise i will sure go for it, but dont want the little home grown ones that take 3 years and produce a single tiny pineapple, i want to grow ones that mature large and sweet like you buy at the store. I really appreciate your time in this matter, please email me with your answer at [email protected]

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the Dole pineapple plantation's specific practices. You might contact them and ask them directly how they produce their pineapples. There is contact information at the following web site:

Pineapples really require a tropical climate to grow their best. Outside of moving there, I do not think you will be able to grow full sized premium pineapples such as those sold in the grocery store for fresh eating. If you still want to try, here are some pineapple growing tips from California:

Good luck with your project. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.
