In my experience, coffee is not a particularly "good liquid" to use for plants. Some people report it seems to benefit a plant, or that a plant has "only been watered with old coffee" and has done well. I suspect that the plants are able to grow with whatever amount of water is in the coffee and either are not sensitive to or might prefer the small amount of acidity and/or nutrients that might possibly be in the coffee. I would suggest that instead of coffee a plant be given an appropriate amount of water and fertilizer.
