My carnations are still green and growing after several frosts. How should I winterize these bulbs - I have just planted them this past spring.

Most varieties of carnations (Dianthus) are usually winter hardy perennials and should be able to survive the winter. The most important factor in their winter hardiness is usually drainage because they will rot over the winter in a location that is overly wet. Assuming they are planted in a well drained location, they should be fine without any special care.
