Can one start corn in a greenhouse and then transplant the corn into the garden for an early harvest of corn?

Although one can theoretically do this, it doesn't usually translate into a much earlier yield (partly due to transplant shock, partly because they can't be held for very long and have to be planted small) so the work is not really worth the effort. Pregerminating the seeds (wrap them in a moist paper towel, place that in a warm spot out of direct sun and plant when they begin to sprout) is much easier and does speed things up a little bit. For an early yield it is better to select a variety that matures faster.
