|what is the best way to transplant a christmas tree?
root system is in burlap sack.
|Select a location where the tree will have room to grow to its mature size, avoiding buildings, power lines, roadways, and underground utilities. Dig a wide hole, several times the width of the root ball, and to the same depth. Loosen the soil at the bottom of the hole. Set the tree in the hole and remove the burlap and any wires or ties. Now backfill the soil, watering once when half the soil is replaced, and again when all of it has been returned to the hole. Now mulch around the tree to a depth of several inches but do not allow it to touch the trunk. If it is in a windy location, you may need to stake the tree. Make sure to keep the soil moist but not soggy wet during the coming growing season and into the fall while the roots are becoming established. Good luck with your tree.|
