|I am doing a science fair experiment on seeing how bean plants grow in three different types of soil- top soil, potting soil, and sand. I planted my seeds about two weeks ago and only two out of forty-eight plants have sprouted in the potting soil. I have noticed that there is a white, fuzzy substance over where each seed is located in the potting soil. After pushing aside the dirt, I saw that there is a very soft white patch that was the seed. Do you know anything about this white, fuzzy substance that I thought was mold or if the plants are going to grow?
